Garrett's 10th Birthday

Garrett had everything all figured out. Watch Star War movie, treasure hunt with Legos for the prize, pizza, and each guest by name.  I dread planning the parties, so I called the Master party planner, my sister Lynette and got some ideas.  10 minutes before the boys were to come I was panicking about the dumb treasure hunt. Garrett had already hidden the prizes so I HAD to think of some clues.  Here what I came up with on the fly:
1. The TIME to prove your worthiness has arrived.
2. The only escape for the weary is a nice cozy BED.
3. You will practice your battling skills on the COMPUTER simulator.
4. When evil forces arrive the ferocious Jynx (our dog) is unleashed from hid CRATE.
5. When troops need refueling a piece of TOAST does the trick.
6. Your treasure awaits you just beneath the fire in a pile of fluffy pillows.
The clues was hidden where the capital word indicated.  Okay, so the last one isn't that creative but it worked.  Garrett was laughing so hard running around with the pack of boys that he couldn't read the clues.

Each boy got their own boxed kit of Star Wars Legos. The best $$ spent, they put together their Legos and finished the movie while I baked the pizza.  We had an inpromtu game of telephone at the dinner table, and an impromptu dance off to Crazy Frog to burn off some more energy.

To my surprise none of the boys had done "heavy, heavy hang over thy poor head...." and Garrett wished each one of his friends a super power...."what do you wish (me) with a bump on your head".
30 minutes until party was over and the boys just wanted to play Rockband,or star wars, or DS games. I think the boys had a blast and I might have even had a little more fun than I expected too. :) But, sheesh THEY WERE LOUD!!!!
To sum it up: my baby is 10 and I still remember the day he was born and I fell in love all over again.  I  find my self wishing I would have treasured the terrible twos and his tiny hug and kisses a little more.  Love you, Buddy!
