Spring Break on San Juan Island

I have too many pictures to post, so you will just have to visit our picture album on Picasa. We had a fabulous time. This is one place we will frequent any time of year. We searched out 5 Geocaches and found three. We took a Whale and Wildlife Tour of the Strait of Juan de Fuca. It was just us and an older couple from Scotland, so quite a nice private tour. No whales but we had a porpoise chasing along side our boat, lots of seals, black tail dear that actually swim island to island-- go figure, that evolution for ya! Katelyn the ever wise and all-knowing teenager stayed huddled in a bundle of blankets for the entire 4 hour tour on the bow of the boat. She was too cool for a coat and didn't even wear socks, just some slip on shoes. She learned to be grateful for my advice to her to wear underarmor and to at least bring her coat. I am so much smarter than I look :o) Another hit was South Beach...... I had mentioned to the kids it was a driftwood beach and they thought it was totally STUPID to go see wood on a beach. So I dragged them all out there complaining the whole way. and as we came up and over the hill to see the beach " that my dears is driftwood" They had lots of fun combing the beach for rocks and seashells. Examining the driftwood and tidepools. We found a little gobie and lots of tiny clams. Savanah lost her favorite sunglasses but thought she found a pearl in the rocks (right), then blamed Garrett for covering it with sand. Katelyn found a crab and sunburned her face. We all had a fabulous Spring Break!
