February 10-15. Lorna just had her baby Jan 19 and Lynette was scheduled to deliver little Zac in March so I was going to go to Utah to see sisters and babies and to help out. We were all feeling a little cabin fever so Jamie and I scheduled flights for everyone, keeping it under wraps. The kids knew that i was going, but that dad was going to take them on a little trip for the school break while I was gone. LOL this way there was no ? about packing suitcases. I told them to pack for snow and bring swimming suits. We all headed for the airport together and they still had no clue. we walked to the same gate area and they had no clue. they questioned and I simply told them their planes leaves after mine so they can walk me to the gate. Luckily in my gate area there was also a flight bound for MI, so they just KNEW they were going to G & G Marutz's house. SLC flight asked that all carry on luggage get gate checked because it was smaller airplane so I did mine, and then told Jamie he better go check his flight just in case it was the same circumstance...... I hugged everyone and waved good-bye as they headed to 'their' gate. when they got to the SLC gate they turned around and I just had to laugh and wave. Their faces were priceless, and they were excited.
WEDNESDAY we went to a Jazz vs Lakers game. They gave out free t-shirts that night so that was bonus. Savanah always wanted a foam finger so we endulged her and Garrett. Some how we ended up sitting in between the most obnoxious Laker fans that couldn't get enough beer. so they got louder and louder. They all were wearing Mullet wigs too, not sure what that is about. Savanah call that "business in the front, party in the back" LOL
THURSDAY was Garrett's 11th birthday. we went to the Planetarium and watched a movie about Blackholes. He loved it, kinda goes with his interest in Stars Wars and anything remotely related. Lynette and Lorna met us downtown SLC late afternoon and went to dinner with us at he Melting Pot. Loved the Turtle Dessert!
FRIDAY: We headed to Logan to visit family. We stayed at the new Springhill Suites because Jamie had free nights earned from all his traveling to Philly, and they have a pool. We visited with Lisa and Andrew and saw their new house they are building.
SATURDAY: We helped at Lynette and Randon's run some errands, finish a door project and put away Christmas and dig out necessary baby items from the attic. The kids even pitched in to clean the basement. We had all the cousins over to the pool for a pizza party for Garrett's birthday. Since we moved when he was 1, he has never celebrated a birthday with aunts, uncles, cousins, grandma, and grandpa, so it was special day. We finished with strawberry shortcake, mmmm.
SUNDAY I showe Lisa how to make Green Chicken Curry and we made lunch for Lorna and Ryan and new baby Rebekah. then we heade back to SLC to stay the night. we were flying home inthe morning.
The girls, as expected, could not get enough time alone with bab Rebekah. What a cutie! we are sorry to miss out on baby Zac since he is not arriving until March 19... but we will be back in July :) we had a fun trip and look forward to coming home.
