Marutz Moments: Ironheart 4 mile Run

Garrett's first competitive run. wasn't really a race against other runners, just a run in support of heart health. He placed 19th at a 8:29 pace on a 4 mile track. He loved it. He might be hooked.

He started track at the junior high for the first time and came home complaining of knee and ankle pain for a week. So I though I better take him into Dr. just to make sure he didn't pull or strain something. Well it all comes down to his UBER FLAT FEET. I meet flat as a pancake, no arch. Dr. suggested we get him fitted for running shoes as he looked at the worn out pathetic runners Garrett arrived in. we went straight over to Plateau Runner and the nicest lady fit Garrett with shoes and inserts. $157 later and a few more practices under his belt, WA-LA. no more pain and he loves to run!
