Homework Projects

These are a few of the homework projects we are completing this year. I have said it before and I will say it again. I hate homework projects. Why? Teachers get my child for the majority of the day, hours more that even their own mother. Teacher get the best part of the day when my child is rested, fed, energized, and excited to learn. I get them returned depleted of energy, starving (so they say, LOL), tired and irritable . Add to that doing the bazillion lame worksheets, reading logs, research papers, poster projects, ETC. it never ends! After school is NOT an extension of the classroom. I would like to spend quality time with MY child as I see fit. Not something dictated by a stranger employed by my state government.
Having said that....... I did enjoy the time spent with each child, reluctantly. Garrett has an easy time memorizing. He had his speech committed to memory after 3-4 times running through his notes. Savanah understands concepts with detail and can also memorize fairly easily. Katelyn can ramble on to write a research paper if given some music and a few key sentences for direction. (go figure the girl love to talk). Savanah aces her tests, Garrett received a 4, which is equivelant to A+ these days, and Katelyn results are still out.
