Katelyn joined the Eastlake High School SWIVE Team --aka Swim and Dive. She has really missed the water since we left Arizona where she was on a swim team for 3 years. She is really very good at swimming. I love watching her swim, she makes it look so easy; gliding through the water.
She had to learn 3 dives to compete on JV, then a total of 6 to compete with Varsity team. By the end of the season she had her 6 dives. :) Mid season she talked to the coach about filling in on the swim team too. Since they compete together it was an easy fit and she loves being back in the water.

The first video I'm confused.....did she hit the board on the way down? It totally looks and sounds like it.
Otherwise that's pretty cool to see her dive.

OH YA! she hit her head... on the diving board. I thought I was going to be sick. The one judge nears the pool kicked his chair back and was ready to dive in after her; the lifeguard sprinted around the deck to jump in too. She got a very unremarkable red mark on the bridge of her nose. and that was it. PHEW! Hallelujuah!! Freaked me and the coach out.
Later inthe meet another team mate hit the board too and they called the pararmedics so they checked out Katelyn then too.
good for you katie swimming is such a fun sport, and competition makes it just that much more interesting. WOW I'd have freaked out, too, had it teen my kid who hit the board.
